There is an article in today's Honolulu Star Advertiser saying that the Noble Solons in our legislature are buying some Oahu farmland to make it available for "many small farms."

We are paying $25,000,000 for 1750 acres.

If I haven't lost a decimal somewhere, doesn't that work out to $14,285 per acre? I wonder what they are planning on growing.

Our own noble U.S. Rep. Mazie Hirono proclaimed that:
"purchasing the Galbraith Estate land exclusively for agricultural use moves us in the right direction toward growing more of the food we eat."
And ever so much cheaper than importing foreign food from places like California.
