The Site Meter claims the 1000th visit to Blogospherical Ruminations occurred at May 24 2005 11:10:53 pm. I am dubious as it seems to define visit as casually as appearing as a result on somebody's Google search even if they didn't actually click on the link, but I'll take whatever little ego boost I can get.

Re SiteMeter and Google: when Google visits your page and indexes it, that counts as one visit on SiteMeter. If 10,000 people search Google for "senseless drivel" and your site is listed, that counts as 0 visits on SiteMeter, unless someone actually clicks on the link and gets to your page.
So Google will skew your visit count, but the effect is probably on the order of one visit every 10 days.
