Our Country is in the Hands of Professionals

According to the Associated Press:
State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley urged Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad...to send American hikers Josh Fattal and Shane Bauer home.
OK. Fair enough. That's State's job. So, on what occasion did State Department Spokesman Crowely do so?
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's spokesman sent a birthday greeting to the president of Iran
What did he say?
Crowley said, "What a gift that would be."
How did this US State Department Spokesman Crowley send his birthday message?
In a tweet...
I am sure Ahmadinejad was touched by the US Department of State's professionalism, but:
There was no immediate response from the Iranian president.
Possibly Ahmadinejad was too busy shaking his head and telling his nuclear engineers to "Damn the Tweets! Full Speed Ahead!"
