I wonder how Dan Rather would have reacted

Georgian television reporter Tamara Urushadze ran into a small problem while reporting. Or, rather, it ran into her:

Thanks to Power Line for the lead.

The Olympics: "An enormous Satanic issue."

As I suspected while watching the women's beach volleyball competitions, religious imperialists are not pleased.

It isn't just semi-naked women which are tools of Satan: "Football (aka soccer) leads to temptation. It is not an innocent sport."

Saudi Cleric Muhammad Al-Munajid does have good things to say about the Muslim conquest of Andalusia, tho. I guess it is sort of an "Imperialism for me but not for thee" sort of thing.

Oh-oh

Al-Queda may have figured out how to transform the Republicans into allies.

The Telegraph has the story:
Al-Qa'eda (is) enforcing a series of rules imposing their way of thought on the most mundane aspects of everyday life.

They include a ban on women buying suggestively-shaped vegetables, according to one tribal leader in the western province of Anbar.

Sheikh Hameed al-Hayyes, a Sunni elder, told Reuters: "They even killed female goats because their private parts were not covered and their tails were pointed upward, which they said was haram.

"They regarded the cucumber as male and tomato as female. Women were not allowed to buy cucumbers, only men."
They're down on ice cream, too, but I don't think the Republicans have a problem with dairy products.

Some of the Democrats may, tho. So, is this how al-Queda co-opts both the Republicans AND the Dems?
