Waste 50% of Physician's Time: ObamaCare

In their zeal to regulate and standardize health care, the law’s authors empowered bureaucrats in Washington to drown doctors like me in a deluge of paperwork and reporting requirements.

This has only forced doctors like me to spend less time treating patients. Compared to when Obamacare was passed, I now spend roughly half my time on data entry and administrative work. I feel more like a data entry clerk than a doctor. Surely this time would be better spent in the treatment room or on the phone with patients conducting follow-ups.
Thanks, Nancy. Thanks, harry. And Thank You Very Much, President Obama.

I don't think much of Republicans, but I hope they absolutely crush you arrogant SOBs next month, with an un-vetoable majority in both houses.

Old Guy With Gun Whups Young Guys With Guns

Good for him. I suspect it will be the last time these armed criminals decide that people in an Internet cafe are safe prey.

As one of the criminals was quoted later as saying: "It doesn't feel good. It makes you think about life's decisions, and how you should live your life."

One should think about decisions to threaten innocent people with murder.

Yes, this is a couple years old, but still fresh.

Hawaii Ranks Low Again In Multiple Economic Categories

We like it that way: Screw the poor by screwing the not poor, and feel virtuous doing so.
State Senate Minority Leader Sam Slom stated, “I agree with the authors of Rich States, Poor States when they write “Most politicians know instinctively that taxes reduce the activity being taxed – even if they do not care to admit it. Congress and state lawmakers routinely tax things they consider “bad” to discourage the activity.” We see this when we tax tobacco and alcohol....You can’t overtax the people to support bad spending habits, and then expect people to stay and invest in our state.”
As the article also says:
there is cumulative domestic migration loss of 26,409 people from 2003 to 2012, with a net domestic migration loss of 2.4%.
The Democratic Party's subservience to the Sierra Club (the most powerful lobby in the state, and a virulently anti-building one at that) has driven the median resale price of a house here to a statewide average of roughly $675,000. Try affording that as a school teacher, or anything else, for that matter. No wonder the young move to the Mainland to escape the consequences of voting Democratic. They probably still vote Democratic on the Mainland, though, so they effectively infect the Mainland as well. They do not see the connection between making it extraordinarily difficult to build homes and the rising price of existing homes.

And the Hawaii Republican Party does a miserable job of pointing that out.

Another Fast & Furious Gun Surfaces: Two Wounded In Phoenix

Fast & Furious: The gift which keeps on killing, or, at least in this instance, wounding. Two people in Phoenix have been shot with a Fast & Furious weapon, and Eric Holder et al apparently have been concealing that information since July of 2013.
Grassley and Issa say Obama’s executive privilege claim is invalid because he is asserting the lower of two forms of privilege, deliberative process privilege rather than the higher form of presidential communications privilege. If he asserted the latter higher form, Obama would be admitting that either he or his top deputies knew of details of Operation Fast and Furious of which he and his senior advisers have vigorously denied knowledge—and the lower form of privilege, Grassley and Issa have noted, is considered immediately invalid with even the suspicion of government wrongdoing. In Fast and Furious, Obama, Holder, and the rest of the Obama administration have admitted there was not only a suspicion of government wrongdoing, but that government wrongdoing actually occurred.
Holder and Obama continue to stonewall the investigation into crimes committed with Fast & Furious guns:
That rifle was purchased by the Fast and Furious straw purchaser. What’s perhaps most interesting about this is that Grassley and Issa noted in their letter to Cole that the Obama administration is continuing to withhold from Congress information about crimes in which Fast and Furious guns were used.
Jerry Ford issued a pardon to Richard Nixon to spare the country the agony of a criminal trial and the spectacle of a president incarcerated. I think in hindsight that he made a mistake: The spectacle of an imprisoned President would have served as a great example to Nixon's successors. Today, Presidents and Cabinet officials are above prosecution, and that is a very dangerous situation indeed. Far more dangerous to the country than a mere trial and prison time.

It Makes Perfect Sense To Me

After all, if a vivisected, hormonized man is properly considered a woman, why wouldn't a vivisected, hormonized woman be properly considered a man? XX vs XY chromosomes and prior life experiences aside, of course. They don't count in the Liberal Arts, and Liberal Arts trump science any and every day. As we all know, and accept, they should, naturally. Science is just an opinion, while Belief is Truth.

I'm waiting for the President to stand in solidarity with himmer. Anything less would be racist.

Still, I might reconsider allowing my child to attend Wellesley at my expense.

"Elbert Guillory: Mary Landrieu is Not Helping Blacks"

Why is the GOP incapable of running ads like this one in every race?

The Democrats, by working for open borders with Mexico and Central America, are working to harm low skilled African-Americans by undercutting what their labor is worth.

Nonetheless African-Americans vote for Democrats in droves. Why vote for people who are working hard at hurting you?

US Falls To 12th Most Free Economy

America's descent down the ladder of economic freedom is unsettling, in itself. More troubling, however, is the chief factor behind the US decline. The biggest drop in US economic freedom has been in the country's legal structure. The report notes that, "increased use of eminent domain to transfer property to powerful political interests, the ramifications of the wars on terrorism and drugs, and the violation of the property rights of bondholders in the auto-bailout case have weakened the tradition of strong adherence to the rule of law in United States."
Political actions have consequences. Politicize the economy enough, and Atlas doesn't have to shrug. Atlas can be crushed in place.
The rule of law has long been the foundation of America's economic prosperity and liberty. The US ranking in this area has plummeted to a terrible 36th place in the world. This, combined with increased regulation is stifling US economic growth. The report observes, "[t]o a large degree, the United States has experienced a significant move away from rule of law and toward a highly regulated, politicized, and heavily policed state."
We no longer live in a free country, and there are very powerful interests indeed which like it that way: Controlling the regulators and the subsidizers is more effective for the bottom line than producing goods and services the consumer wants, at a price consumers are willing to pay.
Curtailing government's leviathan isn't simply solving a math problem, i.e. getting revenue and spending figures for government to balance. A far larger threat is the accumulation of thousands of rules and regulations that not only stifle innovation but also undermine our personal and property rights.
Again: That is the way the Crony Capitalists want it, and they have entrenched themselves deeply in the political system. We may never again have anything like a free economy or a free society: Interests already in place may already be too powerful to overcome.
